Manga Review: Nightmare Inspector

Howdy y'all! Isabella here and I have got your review of the manga called Nightmare Inspector by Yumekui Kenbun.

Now this book is about a baku named Hiruko thats lives in a tea shop named the Sliver Star Team room. For those of you who don't know what a baku is (which I had no idea either until I read this manga) it is a demon that feeds on peoples nightmares. Hiruko basically waist night after night at table in the Sliver Star waiting patiently for customers to come badging through the door as a fairly withdrawn Mizuki (the owner of the Sliver Star) serves the demon copious amounts of tea. The art in this book is fantastic, very well drawn with its own unique style that still staying true to the whole Japanese manga motif. Each chapter is separated into a different story, each new chapter bringing in a new character with a new problem. The nightmares Hiruko are entered to are usually bizarre result of what the mind can muster but still manages to hold your attention to the fantasy of it all.

I warn you now though: DO NOT READ THIS MANGA IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HAPPY ENDING. This story is a horror one by all means which means by the end of each chapter almost everybody gets screwed. A content happy result is a rarity to find in this story and even when something good does happen some how some small thing still manages to make you to feel bad or sorrowful for the whole situation.

Even so Nightmare Inspector managed to grab hold of my attention and keep me glued to the stories, chapter after chapter. I don't recommend it for kids, probably ages 13 + can handle the horror theme's and the constant use of blood. I definitely will be looking out for Volume 3 which will hopefully come out soon.

Nightmare Inspector gets a 9 out of 10. <3

That's it for me! Signing off until the next review!
